I know it has been awhile.... A VERY long while...
Here's what's been happening:
March: I TURNED 19!!!! I NEVER though i'd make it to the age of 19, in fact i swore i wouldn't- i told myself I didn't want to and i wouldn't. But, I DID! And I'm so happy i've made it this far.
April: I spoke at Just Desserts (a HUGE fundraiser for REACH). It was incredible! I told a bit of my story and how REACH and the website has changed my life.
I also received the 'Voices Of Courage' award given by WCASA, which is a STATE award! I have never felt so proud of myself. Along with others, I wrapped denim around the state capitol! I got to lead a chant! "1 in 4, NO MORE!" I felt so blessed in receiving this award especially at such a young age.
I started a new job, too!
May: I moved in with my best friend and her (my) family.
My best friend and I were featured in a local news story! We talked about the "It Takes Just One' project and all the good it has brought out school and community. I shared a bit about my story and it was just a crazy amazing experience. Local celeb right here! Haha, just kidding (:
May was difficult for me emotionally and mentally. I found myself questioning my worth and I began to slip back into my eating disorder. Luckly, I didn't slip too far and I was able to pull myself together.
I got an apartment!!!!!! FINALLY! After struggling for a year, bouncing from one place to another, I finally have a place of my own. I'll never have to worry about having no place to go.
I have already been asked to speak at a conference in September/October, which I am totally excited about! I can't wait!
June: I found out that the boy who assaulted me in February, has NOT been cooperating with the investigator in charge of my case. Which means, this process is going to take A LOT longer than planned and is going to go a lot further than expected. The investigator has shipped my case over to the DA to decide what the next step is.. :/ To be completely honest.... I am so scared to see where this goes and how this plays out... I just want this to over, y'know?
I lost my job :(
Moved into my apartment!(:
And hopefully passing my drivers test tomorrow! Wish me luck?
What have you guys been up too lately? Let me know in the comments below!
I'd love to hear how you all have been doing.
I love you!
Goodnight, my butterflies!
