Yesterday was a very difficult day for me. (well, that's how it started) I was a MESS. I, unfortunately didn't sleep well due to nightmares, and then when it came time for me to get out of bed, I couldn't.. I was so so so sad and uncomfortable, I didn't have the strength to get up. I laid in bed 'til about noon and then my phone started to buzz. It was a Facebook notification, telling me I had a message. When I opened it, I immediately shut down. And all it said was "What's good?". The message was from one of the boys that was in the house when I was raped for the first time.. I started to shake and cry. I just didn't understand why these people were all reaching out to me after so many years. I went into an incredibly intense flashback that lasted almost THREE HOURS. After I came out of the flashback, I was tired and mad and sad and I just wanted it all to stop. I said to myself "I cant do this anymore. I cant keep doing this". But, after talking to Sarah, I pulled myself together, and finally got out of bed. She said "You cant let him run your life". Then she told me that I would be okay, and that she loved me.
GOSH, THANK YOU, SARAH!
I had to go to work that night, and I was DREADING it. But, once I got there my day completely turned around, I connected with a lot of the girls I work with, we talked and laughed and it reminded me that not all things are bad. And that I CAN do this. I CAN get through this rough time in my life.
When I got out of work I had a message from Sarah and when I opened it, it was a picture that her daughter drew for me. Again, NOT ALL THINGS ARE BAD. It made my day. And I'm thankful that I am still alive to enjoy these things.
My day started off kind of awful, but ended wonderfully. This is what I mean when I say "Keep the Faith". Things get better. I promise you, things DO get better. Every hour, every minute, every second, is a chance to start over. To start new and change the way you view things. It's an opportunity to turn your day around, which can ultimately turn your life around.
Keep the Faith.
I love you!
